You Gotta Regatta!
Join us as the Lock Haven Area Jaycees Labor Day Regatta celebrates its 50th anniversary. This nationally sanctioned four day event – the largest in the country – hosts thrilling powerboat races, with speeds topping 100 miles per hour. The festival includes an arts and crafts midway, live music every day, rides and games, and delicious foods. Another Regatta highlight is a grand fireworks display over the Susquehanna River.
Bald Eagle Valley Trail
Hundreds of miles of trails crisscross state parks and game lands in Clinton County, offering options to suit every endurance level. Rails to Trails allow hikers, bikers and cross-country skiers to follow now-abandoned railways. These trails offer easy grades and access to vistas and scenery. The area’s newest trail, the Bald Eagle Valley Trail (parts of which are still under construction), leaves Castanea just outside of Lock Haven and travels toward neighboring Lycoming County where it’s planned to connect to the legendary Pine Creek Rail Trail.
Make a Sentimental Journey to Cub Haven
Pilots and fans of flight from across the nation and beyond make a “Sentimental Journey” each June to Lock Haven, the home of the Piper Cub airplane, Pennsylvania’s state aircraft. The skies above Lock Haven teem with all types of planes, from the iconic J-3 Cub to warbirds and small historic passenger planes.
HoosKow Chainsaw Carver’s Festival
See chainsaw carvers in action and purchase some of their unique art during the annual HoosKow Chainsaw Carver’s Festival every fall at the Clinton County Fairgrounds. Over 40 carvers stage live demonstrations and speed carves, and you can bid on items donated by each carver during a Saturday auction.
Central PA Auto Auction Antique and Classic Auction
It’s a classic auto extravaganza! Car lovers pack the Central Pennsylvania Auto Auction for a yearly gathering where several hundred antique and classic automobiles cross the sale block. While the Auto Auction’s weekly auction is for dealers only, the Antique and Classic Auction is open to the public and draws enthusiasts from across the country.
